Abstract:
In recent years unorthodox transcription from within genic- and intergenic regions has been demonstrated to occur at an unexpected level. In this talk, I will describe our efforts to identify such unconventional human RNAs and to unravel mechanisms of their turn-over. These efforts have delineated mechanisms of promoter directionality and promise to aid in the discovery of new functional non-coding RNA.
