PigEST - Genome Map

We searched for similarities between the pigEST data and the cow (Btau 2.0, June 2005), so far the most closely related even-toed ungulates (Artiodactyla) for which the genome has been sequenced.

Blastn was applied with an EST specific parameter allocation recommended for annotation of genomic DNA with ESTs [Korf I, Yandell M, Bedell J: BLAST, O'Reilly, 2003:137ff], see also Additional File 2 (B). Here, all similarities with an E-value less than 1e-20 are presented. For the ncRNA predictions, which are available under https://rth.dk/resources/pigest/more/ncrna, only non-overlapping blast hits with length greater than 100 nucleotides and identity greater than 75 nucleotides are used.

The menu entry Cow Chromosomes lists all cow chromosomes and its aligned PigEST conreads.
Database Search allows the search for a special PigEST conread.
Download offers additional files to the project.
