Introduction

This resource (Version 1.0) contains an assembly of a large collection of porcine EST sequences as well as static compilations of various types of data, from comparison to databases of proteins and non-coding RNAs. Also expression data extracted from the assembly of non-normalized libraries are available. The clusters are accessible dynamically through the distiller set up using a backend MSSQL server. For details about the assembly set up, see the paper by Gilchrist et al..

To conduct Gene Ontology analysis we matched the consensus and singleton sequences against UniProt. This comparison is available in the static download section. When entering the distiller database a comparison to nr will be available, as nr is the only protein database integrated into distiller at the moment. In a few instances sequences are not match against UniProt, but nr only (due to more conservative criteria in entering the UniProt database).
